It's not an Excel killer, it's the Google Grid - 6/06/2006 10:54:00 PM

Google Spreadsheet. Some say it's an Excel killer. Others say it's a trivial toy. Some worry that there's no business model, while others think Google's just poking sticks at Microsoft.

I say it's another step on the path to the Google Grid. Store all your info online, choose what to publish and who can view and edit.

Sure it's a spreadsheet. Sure it's not nearly as capable as Excel. But it's not about the spreadsheet, or the calendar, or notebook, is it? These are all interesting and useful demo applications to refine and scale the Grid.
