Launching the Video Marketplace - 3/02/2006 06:39:00 AM

It looks like Google's about to enable anyone-to-anyone sales of video content. If so, this would be the first offering of a true Google-powered marketplace. (Google recently announced it would soon open up payments on Google Base, turning it into a marketplace as well.)

When the Google Video Store launched, selected partners like CBS could sell content through Google Video. But while individuals could set pricing terms for their videos, the changes were "waiting to be verified" indefinitely.

I noticed today that a couple of my videos that I'd set prices for have now been verified, and "will be live shortly."

Video Verified

Now, Google hasn't asked me where to send payments or for 1099 information yet, and one would think they'd need to sort that out before accepting payments on for my videos. Perhaps they'll use the same info I've already provided in my AdSense account?
